Are you a happy camper?

Have you ever done Camp NaNoWriMo? How did it work for you? Are you doing it this year?

I’ve never gotten into it. Much as I love NaNo, it’s too much of a fixture of fall for me to take it seriously at any other time of year. It would be like trying to celebrate Halloween in April. Which, now that I mention it, is actually a really good idea. Maybe I should get some candy.

But the ongoing saga of my ill health has forced my hand. I’m just recovering from a little surgery (I’m fine!) and I need to get back on top of my game. Starting a NaNo today seems like a good way to power back up. So, I’ll let you know how the s’mores work out. I can have s’mores, right? I mean, otherwise what’s the point?

I should still hit my last estimate of “spring” for the final Devilborn book, although it’s possible I’ll just get it in under the wire. I won’t release it until I’m sure I’m ending the series with the best book I can.

What are you reading and/or writing right now?

  1. I’m glad you’re doing better! S’mores are good for recovery, also shortbreads, mac & cheese, pizza, brownies & ice cream. Someone close to me recently had surgery and has been doing great on this regimen, so I highly recommend it. :)

I’m still happily writing poetry and have no plans to go back to fiction anytime soon, though it’s never completely off the table. I’ve been reading fiction though ~ the usual suspects, romance and mysteries. Starting the Viscount & the Vixen, since I almost bought a second copy at CVS yesterday. It’s been sitting on the shelf too long!

  2. I haven’t been reading anything, nor writing anything. But I’m alive and kicking. Well, the kicking part may be muscle spasms, but it will have to do.
